The Resort Municipality of Whistler is grateful to be on the shared, unceded territory of the Lil’wat People, known in their language as Lil̓wat7úl, and the Squamish People, known in their language as Sḵwx̱wú7mesh.   • That Council adopt the Regular Council Meeting agenda of October 5, 2021.

  • That Council adopt the Regular Council Meeting minutes of September 21, 2021.

  • That Council receive the UBCM Poverty Reduction Grant Project – Sea to Sky Food Recovery Strategy Action Plan attached as Appendix A to Information Report No. 21-111 and continue to support collaboration between the Resort Municipality of Whistler, the District of Squamish, the Village of Pemberton, Lil’wat Nation, the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, the hotels, restaurants and institutions; and the food distribution organizations in the Sea to Sky Food Corridor to reduce food waste and improve food recovery and redistribution efforts and initiatives.

  • That Council receive Information Report 21-112 regarding the electrification of the Whistler Sailing Club fleet at Alta Lake.

  • That Council approve the issuance of Development Variance Permit DVP01188 for the proposed development located at 2925 Kadenwood Drive to:

    1. Vary the front setback from 2 metres to 0 metres for one retaining wall;
    2. Vary the front setback from 2 metres to 1.04 metres for one landscape planter;
    3. Vary the height of one retaining wall located in a front and side setback area from 1.22 metres to 1.88 metres;
    4. Vary the height of one retaining wall located in a side setback area from 1.22 metres to 2.94 metres; and
    5. Vary the height of one retaining wall located in a front setback area from 1.22 metres to 4.12 metres;

    all as shown on the architectural plans V1 and V2, dated August 25, 2021 prepared by Goar(chi)tects attached as Appendix C to Administrative Report to Council No. 21-113.

  • That Council approve the issuance of Development Permit DP001816 for the proposed storefront alterations, soffit replacement and a new exhaust vent at 110-4222 Village Square, as illustrated on the architectural drawings A000, A100, A200, A300, A400, A400a, A401, A401a, A500, A501, A502, & A503, Revision 4, prepared by Gustavson Wylie Architects Inc. dated August 30, 2021, attached as Appendix B to Administrative Report No. 21-114; and

    That Council direct staff to advise the applicant that, prior to issuance of the development permit, the following terms and conditions must be completed to the satisfaction of the General Manager of Resort Experience:

    1) The applicant is to provide further lighting specifications to demonstrate that the proposed new soffit lighting meets the requirements of the Whistler Village Design Guidelines;

    2) Submission of a final set of Development Permit drawings that incorporate any revisions that result from addressing the conditions specified in this recommendation for Development Permit issuance; and further

    That Council require the eastern stucco wall of the building to be repainted to match the new exhaust shaft stucco as a condition within Development Permit DP001816.

  • That Council consider giving first, second and third readings to “Permissive Tax Exemption Amendment Bylaw No. 2333, 2021".

  • That Council approve the proposed Wildfire Protection and Terms of Development covenant for Lot 4 attached as Appendix A to this Administrative Report to Council No. 21-116; and

    That Council authorize the Mayor and Corporate Officer to execute the covenant.
